The doctors scanned 13 women’s and 10 men’s brain activities after 10-hours of starvation.
All studied people knew techniques to divert themselves from thinking about food but the results showed that women’s brain stays activated and they continue thinking about the favourite meals.
Doctors have gone further when they discovered where is the centre which controls the appetite.
They proved that appetite controlling peptide hormone action is bound for not only to primal centers to control appetite, but also to the pleasure and reward centers. The peptide is released from the intestines in the blood flow after eating and it messages the brain to stop eating.
The American scientists recommend to the content of new appetite suppressants be added hormonal peptide acting on the hypothalamus and brain stem, regulating appetite.
